Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching + what does a coach do?

A coach is a trained partner who supports you in getting clear on what you want, identify what's getting in the way, and take meaningful action toward change. Unlike advice-giving or consulting, coaching is led by you: your goals, your pace, your life. My role is to ask the right questions, reflect back what I'm hearing, and help you access the clarity and confidence that's already in you.

What topics can someone bring to coaching?

Coaching is a wide-open space. People bring career transitions, relationship patterns, self-worth, life direction, burnout, creative blocks, emotional processing, and everything in between. If something feels stuck, unclear, or like it's been following you around for a while, it belongs in coaching. There's no topic too big or too small.

How do I know if I'm ready for coaching?

If you're feeling stuck, in transition, or like you're capable of more but can't quite get there on your own, you're probably ready. You don't need to have everything figured out before you start. The only real requirement is a willingness to be honest with yourself and a genuine desire to change.

How is coaching different from therapy?

Therapy is a licensed clinical practice focused on diagnosis, and processing the past. Coaching is forward-focused: we start from where you are now and work toward where you want to be. The two can complement each other beautifully, and many of my clients are also in therapy.

What does a session look like?

Sessions are 55 minutes and held virtually. Most clients meet biweekly, though some prefer weekly depending on what they're working through. I generally recommend meeting at least twice a month to maintain momentum and keep the work moving forward.

How do we work together?

All sessions are held virtually, with in-person available by request. At the start of our work together we'll get aligned on your goals and what success looks like for you, then build from there. Think of it as a dedicated, judgment-free space that's entirely yours.

Please Note: I am a trained coach, in-progress to become a certified professional coach. I am not a licensed therapist or counselor. Coaching is not a substitute for professional mental health care.
